How might we create an integrated project management platform focused on research and research synthesis for design innovation teams?

Role: Product Management, Design Research

Deliverables: Market Requirements Document, Product Requirements Document, Product Demo, Press Release

Software Applications: Figma, Trello, Mural, PowerPoint, Word

Skills Used: Collaboration, Wireframing, Strategy, Iterative Prototyping, Design Research, Secondary Research

Project

For my Product Management (technology) course within the Kellogg School of Management, each group developed a new venture through the lens of a product team. My group consisted of six EDI students.

We founded Meerkat, a project management platform for innovation teams to streamline and enhance their product development processes by aggregating project data into a single, searchable platform.

Process - Initial Steps

The project began with a press release to better understand the goal we were seeking to achieve. Shortly after, we dove into primary and secondary research. Primary research consisted of 10 interviews.

Process - Secondary Steps

We developed several documents throughout the process to reach out goal, such as a model-view-controller (MVC), unit economic model, affinity map, content model, moodboards, synthesized research, personas, user stories, product roadmap, and wireframes.

Additionally, we completed user testing on our wireframes and value proposition.

Process - MRD & PRD

For a majority of the course, we focused on completing the market requirements document and the product requirements document.

Both documents had three iterations thanks to feedback from our project advisors and professor. If interested, please reach out for the full MRD and PRD.
