Project
As part of my Human-Centered Interaction Design (and Research) course, sponsored by Arity, I participated in a 10-week long project based on real industry needs.
My group consisted of four EDI students.
We completed stakeholder, user, and design research to explore potential opportunities for Arity to add value, through their SDK (software development kit), within the travel industry. We conducted iterative prototyping along with various forms of research.
Process - Research & Synthesis
We immediately jumped into interviews about leisure travel across a wide range of people. We pinpointed opportunity spaces to solve our users’ needs. Meanwhile, we performed secondary research to better understand the landscape, habits, aspirations, and tensions of our users. We developed journey maps, tensions, insights, and frameworks to organize our findings and support our ideation for potential solutions.
Process - Ideate & Prototype
After meeting with stakeholders and completing a sprint retro, my group decided to push forward with the Airbnb Concierge service. We created a user flow to better understand what the experience looks like. Next, we created low-fidelity prototype sketches to test with users. We refined our service offerings as well as the entire user experience.
Process - Iterate Iterate Iterate
Next, we developed higher fidelity prototypes with our refined service. We then created a story around our designed experience, which was supported by all of our research. We developed a single digital experience that was presented to Arity.

Conclusions
We presented a finalized UI + UX flow to Arity. We also delivered our finalized research, frameworks, and opportunity areas outside of our project scope where we found significant insights.
